Get Set for Take Off! Join Quirk Theatre & Exeter Phoenix for a Magical Adventure this Festive Season

Quirk Theatre return for their 21st seasonal co-production with Exeter Phoenix – and this one is set to take off!

This festive season, join Dayzee and her dad in the not-so-far-off-future, a magical future where bicycles fly, flies talk and mangrove forests sing. Future Tourism is a booming business and the wormhole Dayzee discovered in her Dad‘s Pigbat shed has come in very, very handy.

But when a stowaway from 2024 misses the last shuttle home. Dayzee finds herself on the adventure of a lifetime!

Suitable for all ages (but perfect for 5-11 year olds and their adults) it’s a perfect festive treat.

“It has always been our aim to present a bold, vibrant, optimistic vision of the future, in the hope of inspiring thousands more possible futures in the minds of our audiences.

It can be incredibly hard to remain hopeful when watching all the awful climate changes already unfolding across the world, but hope is incredibly powerful. We set out to make a show that was impactful but hilarious, that packed in everything you want from a traditional Christmas show, without shying away from this urgent subject.

So we hope that they will come away with a spark of hope, with the knowledge that each of us has a unique capacity to make a difference, and with a renewed sense of wonder at just how bloomin’ lucky we all are to live on this tiny blue oasis in the vast nothingness of space. Oh, and a big smile. That’s important too!”
