A Package for Milly – an initiative to combat period poverty!

Princesshay has announced its involvement in A Package for Milly, an initiative designed to provide free, discreet access to essential menstrual products for those who need them to help tackle period poverty in Exeter and support the local community.

Originally launched by another Savills managed centre Jackson Square Shopping Centre, the initiative is now being adopted by Princesshay from the start of April 2026, with retailers including Oliver Bonas, Lucy & Yak and Space NK also supporting the scheme.

Visitors to Princesshay can ask a member of the Princesshay on-site team or participating store for “A Package for Milly” during centre opening hours and they will be given a discreet envelope containing essential menstrual products, free of charge and with no questions asked.

Named in honour of women’s Suffragette campaigner Millicent Fawcett, the programme provides dignified access to essential products for individuals facing financial hardship or for those who have been caught short.

Period poverty continues to affect thousands of people across the UK. According to ActionAid UK, 10% of girls have been unable to afford menstrual products, 15% have struggled to access them, and nearly one in five have had to use less suitable alternatives due to cost.

Hannah Overton, Marketing and Commercial Manager at Princesshay, said: “Period products are essential items, but for many people they are not always easily accessible. We are proud to support A Package for Milly and to offer a way for anyone to access what they need during a visit to Princesshay.

If this initiative helps even one person feel more comfortable and supported then it’s worthwhile. We hope it also plays a small part in breaking down the stigma that still surrounds period poverty.”

Princesshay is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of Exeter residents and visitors and hopes that this initiative will inspire other businesses and organisations to get involved.
