Eat for the seasons
Cosy cafés, comforting new menus and kitchenware made for autumn – settle into the season at Princesshay.
Autumn is here, bringing with it crisp mornings, golden afternoons and a craving for all things warm and comforting. Whether you’re meeting friends for dinner, lingering over coffee or cooking something delicious at home, Princesshay has plenty of inspiration for the season ahead.
A taste of autumn
Exeter’s food scene is buzzing, and autumn flavours are finding their way onto the menus at Princesshay.
At Lloyds Lounge, settle in over plates made for sharing, from roasted cauliflower to pork belly tapas – with an expertly mixed cocktail to start, of course. Over at Wagamama, steaming bowls of noodles and fragrant curries are just the thing as the temperature drops. And if you’re stopping by on a weekday, look out for the £14 lunch menu.
Pull up a chair, order something warming and make an occasion of it.

Coffee dates
There’s something about the ‘ber months that makes a coffee date even more appealing. Find a comfy corner, catch up with a friend and indulge in an autumn favourite at Costa, such as a Maple Hazel Hot Chocolate or a hearty toastie.
For coffee with a soundtrack, head to 12 Bar Music & Social. Its autumn line-up brings intimate gigs, open mic sessions and deck nights to Princesshay – perfect for those evenings when you want to stay out a little longer. Take a look at what’s coming up and book early.

Little treats
Grey skies call for small pleasures. Pop into Chandos Deli for a freshly made coffee and croissant, find a seat and watch the world go by. The cakes are well worth making room for, too.
Better still, bring a friend and turn an ordinary rainy afternoon into a proper catch-up.

Quick bites
For a quick, filling lunch that sets you up for the day, head to Hanlees which serves colourful salads packed with crisp vegetables, vibrant toppings and plenty of healthy ingredients. Head to the salad bar and build yours exactly the way you like it.
Or make a pit stop at POP Kitchen for freshly made pizza before heading back to the shops. Consider yourself refuelled.

Bring cosy season home
Calling all cooks, hosts and homebodies: autumn has arrived in the homeware departments too. Think candlelit tables, favourite mugs, beautiful ceramics and cookware you’ll reach for year after year.
Whether you’re planning Sunday lunch for the whole family or simply making Tuesday-night dinner feel a little more special, these new-season finds will bring some warmth to the table.
What’s new at Next Home
A wander through Next Home at this time of year feels like a big hug.
Look out for glass squashes, pillar candles and pumpkin placemats for seasonal table styling, alongside biscuit jars and everyday kitchen essentials. Mix in warm textures and a flicker of candlelight and you have everything you need to turn home into a cosy retreat as the nights draw in.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen fancies
If pumpkins, gourds and playful autumn details are your weakness, Flying Tiger Copenhagen has embraced the season wholeheartedly.
The shelves are filled with pieces to add instant autumn charm to your kitchen and dining table, from floral bowls and leaf-print ceramics to the kind of irresistibly cute mugs that somehow always find their way into your basket.
Hygge, but make it fun.
